Privacy policy
PDFriend makes every PDF on your phone. The app does not upload your images, PDF files, text or signature. The app has no account, no advertising and no sale of data. When the app crashes, it sends a crash report to Google Firebase Crashlytics. The report does not include your files.
Who does this policy apply to?
This policy applies to the Android app PDFriend (Google Play package com.itdeveapps.imagetopdf) and to the website jpgtopdfapp.com. In this policy, "we" means the developer of PDFriend. "You" means the person who uses the app or the website.
What happens to your images and PDF files?
Your images, PDF files, text, signature and passwords stay on your phone. The app makes each PDF on the device. We do not have a server that receives your files. We cannot see your files.
- The app saves new PDF files in
Documents/ImageToPDFon your phone. Images from PDF to JPG go toPictures/ImageToPDF. - When you share a file, Android sends it to the app that you choose. That app has its own privacy policy.
- A password that you add to a PDF goes into the file. The app does not keep a copy of the password.
Which data goes to Google, and why?
PDFriend uses some Google services. Each item below says what the service does and what data it can send.
Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics)
When the app crashes, Firebase Crashlytics sends a crash report to Google. We use the reports only to find and repair errors. A report contains:
- the device model and the Android version,
- the app version,
- the place in the code where the crash happened (the stack trace),
- a random installation ID. This ID identifies the installation of the app, not you.
A crash report does not contain your images, PDF files, text or signature. Crashlytics keeps crash reports for 90 days. Google processes this data under the Firebase privacy terms.
Document scanner and text recognition (Google Play services and ML Kit)
Smart Scan and ID Card use the Google document scanner in Google Play services. Extract text uses Google ML Kit text recognition. Both run on your phone. Your images do not go to Google for the scan or for the text recognition. Google Play services and ML Kit can send diagnostic and usage data about these features to Google, for example the feature version and its performance. Google describes this in the ML Kit terms.
Review card (Google Play In-App Review)
After a successful task, the app can ask Google Play to show a review card. Google Play decides if the card shows. If you write a review, it goes to Google Play, not to us. The Google privacy policy applies.
Web to PDF
Web to PDF loads the web address that you type, as a web browser does. The website that you open receives your request and your IP address. That website has its own privacy policy. The app does not send the address to us.
Which permissions does the app use?

The app does not ask for the camera permission. The Camera tool opens the camera app of your phone. You pick images with the Android photo picker or the file picker, so the app receives only the images that you select.
Which data does the app keep on your phone?
The app keeps its settings, the theme and your saved signature in its private storage on your phone. Other apps cannot read this storage. When you uninstall the app, Android deletes this data. PDF files in Documents/ImageToPDF stay on your phone until you delete them.
If Android backup is on for your Google account, Android can include the private storage of the app in that backup. Google keeps the backup, encrypted, in your Google account. You control this in the Android settings, under Backup.
Which data does this website collect?
This website sets no cookies of its own. It has no analytics and no advertising. Our host, Cloudflare, processes the technical data of each request, for example the IP address, to deliver the page and to protect the site from attacks. The Cloudflare privacy policy applies. The fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when a page loads.
What are your choices and rights?
- You can delete any PDF file in the app or in the file manager of your phone.
- You can delete all app data: open the Android settings, then Apps, PDFriend, Storage, Clear storage. Or uninstall the app.
- We do not sell your data. We do not share your data for advertising.
- We cannot connect a crash report to your name. If you want us to delete crash data, send us an email. Include the approximate date of the crash, so we can find it.
- You can have rights under the law of your country, for example the GDPR in the European Union or the CCPA in California. To use a right, send an email to the address below.
Is PDFriend for children?
PDFriend is a general tool for all ages. It is not made for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. The app has no account, no chat and no advertising.
How will we tell you about changes?
When this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top. For a large change, we also tell you in the release notes on Google Play.
